Illinois has seen it's medical doctors leaving the
state; leaving her citizens at a loss for medical care. This is a
devastating problem that needs a fair and equitable solution.
We all know that the problem stems from the exorbitant
cost of insurance to cover doctors against mal-practice law-suits. It
seems that Law-suits and especially medical mal-practice law-suites have become
the latest "Get Rich Quick" scheme. There needs to be a better resource
for making sure our doctors provide the best medical care that they can give our
citizens than to bankrupt the system. I would not deny our citizens the
right to just compensation for wrongs committed against them, but we have to
come up with something better than throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
As U.S. Senate, I will be working to protect our citizens
against the loss of medical health care, by protecting our doctors from
frivolous law-suits. I will also be working on a solution to justly
compensate those who have suffered because of a medical mal-practice.
